The utilisation of Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) health care services is regarded as a bonus to rural and remote parts of Australia – for many; this may be the only access to health services. The use of these services also provides much needed respite for many healthcare professionals.
Dr Norman Swan will seek comment and personal experience from the panel during this live broadcast. The discussion will cover operational and organisational support strategies that assist in the effective and collaborative provision of services in communities. Community engagement, orientation systems and continuity of care, along with self-care for those flying in, will also be discussed.
